Dear veterans, descendants of heroes, friends, and partners!
Today, May 9, 2025, we mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in the bloodiest war humanity has ever known. This date is not just a historical milestone. It is an eternal symbol of courage, unity, and unshakable faith in the life our ancestors fought to preserve.
The ZUR Art Foundation bows its head in reverence to those who fought on the front lines, toiled on the home front, and rebuilt the nation from ashes. Your sacrifices and resilience laid the foundation for the peaceful world our generation inhabits today.
Culture: The Keeper of Memory
We believe that art and creativity are a bridge between the past and the future. Through the foundation’s projects, we preserve the stories of heroes, bringing them to life in paintings, music, theater, and literature.
• This year, we launched the exhibition “Art of Victory”, featuring works by artists who served on the front lines.
• Our campaign “Letters from the Front” united thousands of children who read soldiers’ wartime letters aloud.
We Remember and Take Pride In:
• Soldiers who marched to Berlin.
• Women who replaced men at factories and in fields.
• Children of war, whose childhoods were stolen but whose spirits remained unbroken.
• Cultural figures who continued to create in trenches and besieged halls to uplift the people.
Our Duty:
— To preserve the peace won at such a terrible cost.
— To pass on memory through art, ensuring new generations know the truth.
— To unite, just as nations once united against fascism.
To veterans, we wish health, warmth, and the care of loved ones. To all of us, wisdom to safeguard this fragile peace and pride in those who gifted us a sky free from war.
Happy Great Victory Day!
80 years is our shared history, a legacy we must carry through the ages.
